About this blog.

My son was diagnosed with PDD-NOS at 24 months. I created this blog to bring meaning to the often-confusing label. Sometimes I have answers. Other times, just more questions.

More Autism Awareness on MSNBC

If you're insatiable, here's a sensory integration-themed clip:

Nothing new here for SPD junkies, other than the latest advances in consumerism.

Wow. I think it's a great idea, but... That chick seems to be very well-paid, and the materials she uses are rather high end. Who can afford that?

I know I am a pain in the ass and can rant at anything but "what the MOTHER has to figure out..." just the mom huh? And please don't kiss the kid if he don't like it!!

But it was good, I am so passionate that the environment makes a big impact on the child, one of the reasons why I s badly want out of this house. But really, you don't need that woman to do it. I could do it myself, lol!!

Thanks for sharing x

I was trying not to be facetious, but I completely agree: if you're serious about SPD, you buy a bunch of ugly functional stuff. And if you have the $ to make that functional stuff look chic, then you should donate it to SPD or autism research.

Had to laugh at your quip "the latest advances in consumerism." Like Quirky Mom, I was thinking how much in the world did that "sensory environment" (bedroom) cost? I'm all for it, but I can just see my husband's face when I tell him we're re-painting the room to a more "calming" color.

Laura were you using sarcasm there?! I can't tell, lol. I don't think you have donate money or have ugly stuff, you just don't need some woman who puts 15 billion pillows on a bed, coz they all heve different textures, or paints a wall a calming colour, lol. Really you could do that yourself, but then I am seeing it from just my perspective, perhaps some people can't do that!

You have homework over at mine, you big slacker :0)
